New Pretties For The Cozy Cottage

Got to do a little shopping on my break today. Our office has relocated and there are some cute places in the immediate area. Two of us in the office have been coveting the fleur de lis wall sconce below since last week, but the little boutique where it was happened to be closed for a few days while the owners were off doing a trunk show. Today, my co-worker went by and saw they were open so she went and asked about the sconces for us. The lady at the counter said that she had not gotten the price yet from the owner but would call us. She called my co-worker back with an amazing price but it was for a pair of them. So my other co-worker and I grabbed our wallets and walked briskly to the store. In the store was this sign. I fell in love with it immediately. This was the very last one and they are not selling anymore. Had to have it for my entryway. It is quite large.

I took about nine shots of this photo because someone furry kept walking right in front of the camera with the slow shutter speed at the last second. I have had to delete 8 shots of a dog butt or tail in my picture. Apparently, she thinks this is hilarious.

The same thing happened when I went to take a photo of the sconce, except this time I got her sweet little head in the photo. I forget that when something is on the floor it automatically becomes Liesl's. (PS: I really need to trim her bangs.)

I thought I was doing okay here but note the hint of schnauzer beard in the upper left candle holder.
I am pretty pleased with my purchases and can't wait to put them up.

I have to think of something nice to do for my next door neighbors. For the past few weeks, my next door neighbor who is retired has been bringing my garbage cans up and putting them away for me. Last week I thought maybe I had put them in the wrong spot and he was trying to get them out of the way. So today I put them on the other side of the driveway, just in case. I came home and he had put them up where they belong next to my garage. This is such a nice thing to do. I am really grateful for it when I come home from work after dark. Nice people are awesome. I shall have to bake him and his wife some nice cookies. Thank goodness I have wonderful neighbors.

Ohhh I LOVE LOVE LOVE that wall hanging sign. That is so unique and a definite work of art.

I know what you mean about trying to take photos with the fur babies around. LOL
