Knitting Circle

It has been over a month since our last knitting circle meeting. Everyone has been travelling or busy. We finally all came together tonight and had the best time. We decided the theme was "American Barbecue." We had burgers and home made potato salad, cole slaw and brownies. We also have a club libation, which is sangria and served with our dinners. I am not even sure how it started. It is a little bit of red wine, mostly fancy soda, oranges and frozen berries. We feel like we are being wild. LOL

Not one single knitting needle came out to knit. We had such a good time talking and laughing and just being together again. It was so special. One of our members just got back from Guatemala and brought us beautiful handmade worry dolls. They have a magnet so that it can be put on the fridge. Prior to that, another member brought us cloisonne thimbles from Spain. It is so nice that they thought of us.

I love being with these ladies. The founder of the group said that we were each selected because we are all down to earth. This group of women is just awesome and we just laugh so much., We range in age from 20's to almost 70. There are 7-9 of us on a given night and the number is based on how many chairs the founder had available at her house. This group is one of the huge blessings in my life. If a member has something good going on everyone is happy for her, if someone is going through something sad, the group offers compassion. It started as a group to share an interest in a craft but has become so much more. We have become good friends and my life is so much better because of it!
