All Moved!!!!

I finished moving the very last item and got the former cozy cottage cleaned at 7:30 last night. I had started at 5 am, so I was doing the Frankenstein walk up the driveway last night. My feet were throbbing in my sneakers. I hobbled into the kitchen and made Liesl's dinner. She had had enough of the move, and had a good cranky going. I had enough strength to make my own dinner--a beer and chocolate covered donut, and settled in to watch Talledega Nights and fell asleep. Liesl and I hobbled into our cuddly beds and both slept 12 hours! She got up at 7:30 to take care of her personal business but we both went right back to sleep.

We woke up to a gorgeous Monterey Bay day! The sun is shining, the bay is bright blue, and there is a gentle, warm breeze. I feel so happy and so in love with my house. I woke up this morning and thought, "I am home." (Living between two houses when you are moving is really hard on the spirit.) My favorite race of the year, Talledega, is on today and I am staying home! I have to install my mailbox (I am shopping for a prettier one if anyone knows any sources) but other than that I am resting and getting the house set up. I have the back door open so Liesie can go play in her yard to her heart's content. She is pretty tired from the four days of moving so she is still pretty sacked out. She has been a trouper, but by last night we were both over it.

A quick funny Liesl story: My basket of yarn is on the floor of the living room. This is a temporary situation. Liesl loves her some yarn and saw this as a gift from Heaven. She laid down and put her paw on it ready to get to work. I caught her and told her to stop. So she took her paw off but kept licking the end. In my best stern momma voice, I said, "Liesl!" She stopped licking it, but kept the tip of her tongue on it and broke out into a big smile, like she thought she was hilarious. She is a crack up. (The breed is notorious for a pretty well developed sense of humor where they know they are funny. At the same time, they are a breed where you have got to be known as the leader and have a very firm hand.)

I hope to post tonight and I really hope to find my camera. I wanted to at least check in this morning.

Hope you have a really happy day!

So glad you had a pretty day today. Good luck with the mailbox. We recently had to replace ours and didn't like anything we found. We eventually settled for something, but I didn't like it as much as our old one.

So glad the move is over, now the fun of making it a home comes.
