Wonderful Wednesday!

I only worked a few minutes late tonight, and got to drive home while watching a breath-taking sunset over the hills. The trees stood out individually against the orange light as it streaked across the sky. I really enjoyed those moments, with the cool evening air blowing in the windows and felt lucky to be able to see it. What a blessing!

My heart and prayers just go out to all of those affected by the horrible snowstorms. So many people stranded in their cars, or losing power. I just pray that everyone is safe and all have enough heat.

Tonight I had nothing on the schedule. Whoohoo! I was so excited when I got home to change into sweats, cooked a leisurely dinner and sat down to stitch. Sweet. Liesie went to bed early again, so I had the sofa to myself. I missed her though. She did get up once because there was a doorbell on television. Whenever she hears one on TV, she thinks someone is at the door. There is one thing she takes very seriously and that is protecting her momma, and sounds a loud alarm to any potential danger. So I tried to tell her that all was well, but she was already in full swing of barking a warning. I ended up picking her and whispering in her ear and giving her a kiss on her head to get her to calm down. She still had to get the last word in and looked at the front door and gave it one last closed mouth bark. Schnauzers...

So anyway, I was a stitching machine tonight. I can't wait to post photos this weekend when I have some time. This piece is so much fun. Plus it is done in red, white and blue, so there is not a lot of colors or incremental variances of color. It was so much fun and I can not wait to pick it up again.

I have a mini daschund and she does the same thing when there is a doorbell on tv. So funny.

I have learned which commercial have the doorbell and we always try to turn it down or switch the channel before both dogs go into bark mode. I ALWAYS have to let Sam our Westie look outside to reassire him that in fact there is noone there.
